Turn up the heat with this savory dish! Don't forget to serve it up with bagoong.
For best results, cook with: "The Perfect Mix" ♫
½ kg ox tail, cut into serving pieces
3 cups water
1 tbsp oil
1 pack (50g) Del Monte
Quick n Easy Kare-Kare Mix
200 g eggplant sliced
6 pc (100g) sitaw, cut-up
100g banana heart (puso ng saging),
1 stalk pechay Tagalog
*Makes 4-5 Servings
- add the ox tail to boiling water and leave it in for about 5 minutes.
and discard the broth.
Pour 3 cups of water onto the meat. Cover and simmmer it until the meat is tender (add more water if needed).
Add in 1 and 1/2 cups of reserved broth
the meat in oil for 5 minutes.
Add back 1 &1/2 to 2 cups of broth.
Add Del Monte Quick n Easy Kare-Kare Mix.
for about 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Don’t forget to stir.
Add in an eggplant, sitaw, or banana heart if you'd like.
for 10 more minutes (or until the veggies are partially cooked.) And don't forget - keep stirring!
Lastly, add the pechay.
Wait about 3 minutes until the veggies are good and done.
Now serve it up with sautéed bagoong alamang and rice.
